:::looking up Elliott's publicist's contact info in order to pitch Random Roles:::

Also, instead of going to prom, I went to see World Party in concert. I can't imagine anything at the prom ever would've matched the experience of seeing them cover of "A Day in the Life" live.

That first interview w/ Gould remains one of my all-time favorites. It also gives you a bit of a glimpse into how stream-of-consciousness a conversation with him can be. This time, we talked for just over an hour and a half, and it ended with him talking with my daughter (which, sadly, was not recorded a la Jonathan

Oh, I'm a total fanboy. But it's that fanboy-ism that makes me want to step up my game. To tie this into The Middle, you can imagine the surge of adrenaline I got when Neil Flynn raised his eyebrows in surprise that I knew who Del Close was, let alone that he trained under him. I freaking live for those moments where

We did talk about it briefly, but in the end, it was already such a long interview and he didn't really have much to say about it. But he talks a bit about it in the last interview I did with him: http://www.bullz-eye.com/mo…

I have often wondered if it'd be worth it to try to get an interview w/ O.J. Simpson that was just about his work as an actor. I'm hard pressed to believe that it'd ever come to pass, but at the same time, who's asking him for interviews about that aspect of his past anymore? Maybe he'd be up for it.

MASH is in there. This is a three-pager, baby!

I must've accidentally trimmed it out, because he definitely mentioned Lou Jacobi, at least in passing.

If you've never read the Lily Tomlin Random Roles, she talks about it a little bit, the fact that he just happened to be in town and Altman said, "Be in the movie!"

In truth, he doesn't do enough of it to make it a must-hear. But the way he growls "no, no, no" is pretty funny, though.

Weirdly, I just talked to James Brolin a couple of days ago at the TCA tour. I am cornering the Mr. Barbra Streisand market.

You bastard! How did you know I couldn't get a date to the prom?!?
:::runs away sobbing:::

Well, it's basically two albums - one's new material, the other's covers - but I find it to be a lot of fun. Not necessarily as great as the old-school stuff, but certainly enjoyable.

SO. GOOD.
I mean, you may disagree. But I think it's like flashing back to Jordan: The Comeback, and I am loving it.

You will appreciate this, I dare say:

I noticed that, too, and meant to mention it. All told, I was extremely happy with Lily's storyline this week. It definitely made up for the weak material last week with the hiding of the money in the air vent.

You know, I was going to ask about it, but then I remembered the interview I did with Michael Madsen a few years back. He'd been talking about how he still bemoaned that Vengeance Unlimited, and I said that his sister was probably feeling the same way about Smith, which had just been cancelled. He said, "Yeah, I don't

Don't worry, there'll be more Robert Altman talk next Friday: that's when my Random Roles w/ Elliott Gould is set to run.
