I think the clown doll brought to life (sort of) in Poltergeist was quite terrifying enough to count, thank you.

But with 100% more Fred Willard!

I'm legitimately surprised that it took this long for someone to grouch about this omission. I told Danny, "Dude, you've got to mention the puppet episode of Angel! Otherwise the commenters will rise up against you with torches!" But here we are, well into the 200s, before the first mention of its absence.

Sweet Jesus, I still can't watch Magic straight through. It makes me too tense. The TV spot featuring Corky left psychological scars which will never fully heal.

I can dig it. And I'm not what you'd call an obsessive Big Country fan, although one of my prized music-geek possessions is a print of the band signed by the original lineup - http://www.discogs.com/Big-… - but I've been a fan of the Alarm since I first heard Strength, so the idea of hearing him fronting Big Country

Oh, it was awful, don't get me wrong. But it's a testament to how funny Hannibal was that we were still able to maintain our focus on him as often as not. And that we didn't kill the other couple. Or the waitress. Or everyone around us.

Went to see Hannibal Buress on Friday night, who was just as hilarious as I'd hoped, but the experience was somewhat marred by the people who shared the table with us at the comedy club. Basically, the entire show went like this: Hannibal did a joke, it struck a chord with them and inspired them to chat back and forth

Vonda McIntyre's The Entropy Effect remains one of my all-time favorite books, Star Trek or otherwise.

One of these days I really need to post the interview I did with Russell Mulcahy at a TCA tour a few years back. It wasn't a long conversation, but he mentioned how fond he remains of that film, which he directed.

Yeah, but for what it's worth (and I totally should've mentioned this in the piece, but at least I'm doing it here), Warner Archive Instant offers a two-week free trial…and I'd be surprised if most people couldn't blow through the stuff they really, really want to see in that amount of time, then make a judgment call

I wondered about the continued existence of Chi-Chi's, but I gave the writers the benefit of the doubt because I know that there are still Chi-Chi's Mexican food products - salsa, etc. - available in grocery stores. You are correct, however: they apparently shut down all existing Chi-Chi's in the U.S. back in 2004.

You know, I thought that "Saturday Night Live? More like Saturday Night DEAD!" joke was played out. Turns out it's all in the delivery. Nice one, Hodor!

You might like this, then: the first time I interviewed him, and with decidedly more topics under discussion than just his least favorite song. http://newsreviewsinterview…

Oh, @avclub-8f14e45fceea167a5a36dedd4bea2543:disqus only says things like that because he knows I'm going to come right back and say that I'm merely standing on the shoulders of giants, following in his footsteps, and stuff along those lines.

Not requests, per se, but certainly people to keep on the radar, anyway. And duly noted.

Y'know, I reached out to try and get Mr. Dern in advance of Django Unchained being released, and I can't remember if I got a "sorry, no" or just didn't get a response at all. Maybe I should try again, though, having since done Random Roles with his Nebraska co-star, Stacy Keach. Certainly can't hurt…

Spent a surprisingly long time this weekend putting the finishing touches on an oral history of Johnny Hates Jazz's Turn Back the Clock album which, should any of you happen to stumble upon it in the near future (it'll be running on Popdose.com), is absolutely worth a read whether you give a shit about the band or not.

I love that movie, too, and told Mr. Rabin openly that I would cry if I found out he hadn't asked about it. But he'd already done the interview by that point, so I won't hold the resulting tears against him…

@avclub-de4a08d644135b09bd7e1a592dff156b:disqus (and @avclub-8dd007f4a97be79c135c67999bf5b27e:disqus ), you've probably already seen it, but just in case, I did a Set List w/ Dulli last year that went so well that we had to split our conversation into two phone calls to finish it: http://www.avclub.com/artic…
