How dare you suggest that I've been toying with the idea of sending out spec scripts? Well, I never…

You mean from the AV Club to me for scoring the scoop? I should certainly hope so…

I don't think it was ever going to play on PBS, but it was supposed to have premiered on Encore this month. It has since been pushed back to September, however. Not sure why.

Having now interviewed her twice, I can confirm that it's less that she's antagonistic than it is that she clearly just doesn't enjoy doing interviews and, possibly because of that, isn't prone to giving long answers. She was very jet-lagged when we did this interview, though, and it was her last one of the day, so

I am forced to give this trailer trailer a "fail," as it contains no footage of Bryan Cranston.

Joel knows that I will forgive him for this, but there is a shameful lack of discussion about Mr. Mirman's gift for playing the theremin, which I was fortunate enough to witness first-hand when he participated in John Wesley Harding's Cabinet of Wonders at NYC's City Winery. Wes read Tweets, Eugene offered musical

I have a lot of love in my heart for Josh Groban for turning up in stuff like this and The Office…and Robot Chicken and American Dad, too, for that matter. Still don't care for his music, though.

As a rule, I tend to try and get confirmation that I'm right before I change it, and in a case like that, the publicists are usually really good about getting you an answer. But, yeah, if the facts belie what a person has said, I'll change it to what's accurate…either before or after it goes live. :-)

After several false starts, I have finally gotten my daughter to the point where, whenever she sees a sock monkey, she holds it up and asks me, "Would you like to buy a monkey?" I'm just so goddamned proud…

That's what he gets for friggin' in the riggin'.

Not a typo, just a matter of her getting on a roll with saying Catherine Keener (she'd been talking about her on The Soloist) and me being used to hearing the name and not thinking twice about it. But I went back and fixed it. Thanks.

Thanks, but let me tell ya, that still took a hell of a lot of searching, because I mistakenly believed it would have her name within the keywords. It does not. I forget what search finally caused me to hit paydirt, but it took forever…not that it wasn't totally worth it…

Johnny Whitaker is on the phone to his agent even as I type these words. ("Look, this Sigmund & The Sea Monsters movie is clearly not happening. The least you can do is get me a cameo in this new Tom and Huck thing!"

It is a tightrope walk to request interviews sometimes, let me tell you. If someone doesn't know what the AV Club is, then you have to explain it's the sister site to the Onion, because they almost always go, "Oh, sure, I know the Onion," but then you very quickly have to clarify that the AV Club is non-parody. I'm

I wish it was. It's actually a conference call for CMS data entry instructions…one which is ultimately unnecessary, as I'll be getting a hard copy after the call concludes, anyway.

How could she not? They come shining through.

Look, if there's anyone down to earth enough to take a Hughleys question in stride, it's Jon Hamm.

What can I say? They offered 10 minutes, I asked for 15 and got it (and the fact that his opening words were "I'm a big fan of your site" probably had something to do with why I did), and I think I made the most of it. There's only so much you can cover in that amount of time.

What Ms. McPlotdevice said. But you probably saw that long before I saw this.

Well, you're right that it came off better in person, but to get the right perspective, just consider that he was portraying the mindset of an actor who, at that point, had only done theater work and one movie. I'm sure the paycheck for …And Justice For All wasn't chump change, but to pull a gig where he was taking
