In my original draft, there were three paragraphs. Just sayin'.

The uglier truth: I didn't even get to interview him. His publicist said he had to save his voice for his upcoming tour, so I had to cull through a bunch of Dunham's routines and - as admitted in the intro - put together a mock roundtable between his various characters. I'm still reeling…and, as such, will gladly

Can't let the existence of anything in the Partridge vaults get you down. It's like being bummed about all the stuff Prince has stashed away: odds are it's never going to see the light of day, so best to just go on about your business and pretend it doesn't exist. It's just healthier that way.

And "Dark Green Energy," which one K. Phipps has called out as a personal favorite.

I knew that joke wouldn't play as well in the piece as it did in my head. But, yes, I'm very much married. :-)

Oh,man, I love "All I Wanna Do Is Fall In Love." Few have uttered the words "sweet mama" in quite so Caucasian a manner, but it's the perfect delivery nonetheless.

The man's rambling introductions are the stuff of legend. I so love the live version of "One Long Pair of Eyes." ("'Go,' said the enchantress, 'and seek ye the one known as Clint!")

Truth be told, I was very late picking up "A Star for Bram" and have never given it nearly as much attention as I should. (Cue the stroll over to the CD rack to grab it.) But I love love love the version of "1974" on "Storefront Hitchcock." The lyrics about Syd Barrett and "Python's last series" never fail to make me

Oh, hell, let me throw out a few of my favorites, too, all of which I would've asked about if I hadn't been limited on time and space:

I, too, love Respect. But he doesn't. I talked to him once before and told him that I enjoyed it, and he actually said outright, "I don't like that record." He did, however, go on to admit that he liked the material, but said, "I think the result was so far from the
intention. You can’t even hear my voice, really. I

The A&M collection makes for a nice sequel. And if you're in the cult by then (and why wouldn't you be?), then it's time to pony up the dough and get that 2-disc Soft Boys set that Rykodisc foolishly let go out of print.

Asked about it, but it didn't make the final cut.

Well, y'know, sometimes it's for length, other times it's because it just feels long-winded.I don't begrudge the decision either way.

Head over to NewsReviewsInterviews.com. All the stuff that didn't make the final cut - including songs from "Good Stuff" - is over there.

We also talked about "Fretless," but she didn't have much to say about it other than, "Oh, yeah, I liked that one, too."

Yeah, I kind of wish I would've asked it sooner, but I was torn as to how ridiculous it was to ask it at all. But, as you said, it clearly threw him into territory that he wasn't expecting but definitely seemed to enjoy.

In that case, I'm sorry you probably found yourself regularly looking into your bag and saying, "I got a rock." But it comes with the territory.

I'll buy that.
