It's kind of refreshing to see the perspective of someone who has actually watched the series and doesn't frequent the Elementary commentarium.  There seems to be two main populations regarding Elementary: People who really love it (enough that they feel the need to get defensive and bash Sherlock), and people who

But it only got canceled after this season, right?  Was it better than last season?

I think this season's Doctor Who suffered from the split companion arcs and planned hiatus.  Typically there's some season-long "mystery", but S7 Part 1 had only 5 episodes, which didn't really allow for long arc or any two-parters and subsequently felt less epic than previous seasons.

My takeaway: We need a TV torture revolutionary, like Einstein was to physics.

It's registering at "same" for me.

But does Fox own the concept of mutants?  I guess that doesn't have actually have to be the case for Fox to drag them into a legal battle over nothing.

Well, that's basically canon, isn't it?, since they are Magneto's children and used to work for him.

This will probably work, although I'm betting they'll have non-mutant superhuman origins, since introducing mutants into the Marvel Cinematic Universe would just make things way too complicated and confusing, what with the X-Men film franchise still going strong.

As with any show, some patience is required as well.  The show doesn't really pick up until halfway through the season.

Obviously you would doubt it, as would anyone familiar with CBS, but you might be surprised.  I personally still prefer the BBC Sherlock, but it's not at all cut and dry.

You have to watch it to make up your mind, honestly.  How could anyone expect a CBS procedural "rip-off" to rival the BBC Sherlock?  But pretty much everyone going into Elementary had this exact same sentiment, and then had their heads turned as the season progressed.

General consensus in the Elementary commentariat is that Elementary > Sherlock.  Agree/Disagree?

It would've eventually dropped to <5…

Every single one of those people should be butchered and served as a delicious meal.

Never CBS

That's a pretty apt description.  By their designs (few vs. many episodes), Sherlock is primarily concerned in the cases (> spectacle), while Elementary is primarily concerned in the characters (> grounded).  They're almost more complementary than they are competitive with one another - I don't find the cases in

Both Cumberbatch and JLM are good, but THIS is clearly the definitive Sherlock:
