The irish wanted bacon. As in the side of bacon kind,

That's because the history of britain is essentially an englishman ordering a scotsman to oppress an irishman.

Sort of.

Between the Welsh and the Irish, it turns out being oppressed by the english gives you a lovely singing voice.

To be fair, they also smacked around China pretty badly a couple of times.

I swear if the punch line to Yamamoto involves a variant  of 'They all look alike to me' I will kill….one of you. You decide which one.

So, is that a gay mustache or an ethnic mustache?

My issue with the Kirby camp is that Kirby, while he was a great artist,   had drawn the way Kirby had before.  But no one had ever written super hero comics the way Stan Lee did in early Marvel before. Not even Stan Lee.

For some reason, my parents were invited to the premiere of this.

Nothing has ever made as uncomfortable as Johnny got his gun.

Tosh gets renewed because the sum total of the expenses involved consist of whatever they're paying Tosh with.

Bleach had some interesting character designs for what were meant to be the original bad guys of the series.

The most popular manga genre in Japan is 'Screw it, it's fighting manga now'

Eh. I'm fine with having white people in Bleach. Akira was really distinctly japanese and made the casting of all white dudes really creepy. Bleach is just a generic actiony thing.

They do. It just happens that a siginificant amount of the stuff that makes it overseas and the stuff that tends to get made in cartoons and so on, is the stuff aimed at teenagers. Who tend to be fond of teenage protagonists.

Given that young adult books are heavily dependent on the reader identifying with the characters, perhaps more than any other genre then perhaps there's a reason 14 year old boys don't want to read things with female main characters.

Buy him Chaos Walking by Patrick Ness. Those are honestly better than Hunger Games books but failed to get a zeitgeist thing by having a female protaginist when people were disapproving of Bella from Twilight.

And if it was some sort of carefully crafted prosthetic or other people were wearing them, it'd be fine.
