Which comes off a little racist on reflection but still. Alternate narratives are nice.
The interesting thing about Thud! is that it's working off a british model of race relations rather than an american one. Which isn't that suprising given it's a british author but it's nice to explore angles other than jews and african-americans for once.
Strata is a pretty good science fiction book that very, very much resembles british science fiction at the time. But I wouldn't go in expecting it to be 'funny' as such.
The issue with Unseen Academicals and Snuff is they're a lot less dense than his other books. They're not less funny per se, but they feel a lot simpler. Which I sadly put down to the fact that he had to dictate them due to health issues.
As with many other people, I'm gonna call Hyden on the geek thing. Classic rock was all that was played on the fucking radio up until the late 90's. You were the guy who was into the music everyone listened to. Don't go around pretending you're some nerd pariah.
Speaking of Josh Fruhlinger, there really is a fuck of a lot lof naked lifting of that guys gags on comedy and comics websites.
I don't want to harp on it but holy shit this show is about as racist as you can get on prime time television.
I'm not going to shit on something just for being a network TV show but they should at least have the decency to be good at what they're doing. And 2 Broke girls…isn't.
I mostly object to the show, apart from it being really goddamn racist, because I get this feeling people are letting what is a really intensely banal comedy , and I mean banal for a three camera sitcom, slide because there are cute girls occasionally talking about their vadge.
Amiga Power gets a break because they were good at it.
You know….
My main issue with this show is my inability to accept the main character as a main character. I keep hoping the actual hero will appear but he keeps hanging with his bland personality and his stupid 90's hair.
For some reason, you seem to get a lot angrier discussions of Conan when Craig Ferguson's name appears in the same artice.
Well, I had to call him the Veronica Mars Guy because he's gotten too chunky to be the Just Shoot Me guy. Instead, he's beginning to look like a man who, as he ages, is more and more comfortable with the fact he resembles Peter Boyle.
I would be really fascinated to know where the hell she gets her money from.
It works if you start with the assumption that proceduals are some sought of terrible scourge on the notion of television and thus must overcome their wretched beginnings.
MIIIIIIIIDLE AGED WHITE KANEEEEEDA!
Is it terrible that I only just walked out that the computer guy is meant to not be moving his upper body because he has fused vetebra and not because it's meant to be some semi-autistic quirk?
Yeah. I felt pretty smug when I called him on being Elias.
