The Wire and Firefly for sure. And the Firefly person should be new to it.

In Star Trek, at least, you can say it's warp core forces causing the shockwaves.

Doctor Who has always used the Daleks that way, especially in the 60s. I could really do with them taking a long nap at this point, though, since the Moffat-run series is doing a fantastic job creating new monsters.

No offense to the Bearded Master, but Stan Lee still has the best-executed gimmick.

We need the awesome of DS9 season 2 to offset the depressing TNG season 7. Even I won't have anything to say about season 7 except "yep, that sucked".

Everyone loves the Theremin.

Nemesis, with the same writer and director but minus Shinzon and plus brain slugs, would have been equally crap. You know it's true. It would have been ham-fisted attempts at doing Alien(s) on the Enterprise, Picard firing a phaser in every direction being all "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH" and Data would still die somehow.

I do like how in Descent Picard finally recognizes, due to this incident, that there is a difference between the moral thing to do and the right thing to do. Thankfully DS9 would actually run with that.

First Contact Picard would do it in a snap. Which is just one more reason movie Picard is different from TV Picard.

Picard foresaw that inside of 10 years the Borg would be the laughingstock of the galaxy, having had their asses repeatedly handed to them by a single tiny ship lost light-years from home. That and bad writing.

Hell, it's not even the first time the Enterprise has done it.

Postmodern: That's a knowledge bomb. I'm forced to conclude that Def Leppard sucked at rocking by 87.

A martini will kick your ass whether you shake it or stir it. The difference is how much you taste.

That does bug me, Geddy.

They did overdub like 75 guitar tracks. Lange insisted that each chord be played one string at a time to even out the attack. Great idea if you're making pop records, I guess, but it sure sucked the rock out of Hysteria.

"The Queen of Perversions, Ida Blankenship…(pause, whispers)…don't use her name."

I'm still trying to figure out whether I like Tennant or not, as in "who do I need to blame for season 2/season 4/the 2009 specials". Really, I wonder if some other actor might have been able to gloss over Davies' attempts to start a Doctor-based religion (Doctor-ianity? Who-entology?).

I can't think of any old enemies that were featured in the trailer for S6, and thank goodness for that, because the "bring back a classic series enemy" shit was really getting old. Moffat knows how to cook up a monster and I'm glad he's doing it.

Because you're thinking of Dark Page?

I also don't see how the butt-ugly Voyager has any better safety measures on the holodeck, because holo-explosives are capable of blowing real holes in the ship. I mean, fuck that episode, but it's canon.
