thanks!  it was that 3K comments post that finally pushed it to the top of my to-do list.  I woke my wife up by laughing too loud.  I've got the first 6 eps of S2 on my ipod, which I have to pretend I haven't seen yet when I watch with her later.

I loved 25th hour, probably my favorite Spike Lee Joint.  I think the point of the beating is twofold: it fucks up his face (he is, after all, a guy with movie-star good looks) - and a pretty face will definitely get you extra unwanted attention; and it does show that he can indeed take a beating and still walk tall…

while I'm enjoying S3, I'm not enjoying it as much as I enjoyed S2.  So, temper your expectations based on my personal taste, is what I'm saying.
