Fair enough. It should also be noted that gambling  and many other "addictions" aren't recognized by the DSM-IV, but instead classified as "impulse control disorders."

Thanks for bringing up eating disorders. People all too often dismiss them as "rich white girl problems," which, statistically speaking, they might be. Doesn't make them any less of a pure hell than sex addiction or alcoholism.

My first thought when I heard about Tracy Morgan doing this was disgust. Then I thought, "Hey, this is a potentially great 30 Rock plot."

@avclub-0f0d67e214f9fef69b278e3d08114da9:disqus  and others- Yeah, you're right that Buchanan was far, far worse. I take back my words, but say that Polk pushing Manifest Destiny without working what it meant for future US territories was a huge oversight. I promise also not to confuse my 19th-century presidents in

I look forward to the resolution of the Alabama-LSU cliffhanger in my week's sports podcasts so we can all get on with our actual professional sports.

Wasn't Polk more or less responsible for the Civil War by refusing to acknowledge there was conflict between slave and free states?

I just had a terrible thought about how this adult swim thing might be an excuse for Fox to give MacFarland another 90 minutes to shit on. Oh god.

"They need to get rid of most of this cast and  start over."

The Hang Up and Listen call in show was so much better this time around. I really liked the recommendations for unusual sports. Plus, we got to hear the dulcet tones of Mike Pesca!

I get really frustrated when they get their facts wrong and even more frustrated that they could give a shit if they do. I know they put out a lot of podcasts, but even I could put together something better given a few hours time and a WorldCat subscription.

"Stupid Hoe" isn't nearly as good a single as "Roman in Moscow." I'm excited, though, that Nicki Minaj is finally putting out a rap record instead of that half-baked pop-R&B shit she did on Pink Friday.

Skillrex was in from First to Last?

"Headlines" and "Marvin's Room" are what won me over (still tepidly) to his side. On those tracks, he settles into a flow that works for him and gets the right production to back him up.

Flo Rida is definitely on the charts in Europe, though the song hasn't reached ubiquity yet. I don't mind the song. He isn't a great rapper, but his producers always pick solid enough hooks or guest artists to make them fun songs. America (and the world) needs a rapper it can get convivially drunk to and we all could

Yeah, I can't say I like these shows, but they are the only way outside of religion classes for Americans to learn a little bit about Biblical exegesis.

I didn't like it. It was nicely shot, but it didn't over any original insights into the lives of the wealthy and I never got a sense of why I should care for any of the characters. And I was vaguely insulted by the movie's thinking it was insightful for saying that men crave emotional connection even when they say

The first season, both show and reviews, were a lot of fun. Then the cast became sentient and aware of their own fame and MTV started trying to cram two or three seasons into a year and it was just awful after that.

But, Mondo!
