Zac Efron
Neither he nor Vanessa Hudgens are nearly as toxic as I've been led to believe. I actually enjoyed Efron in both Hair Spray and 17 Again. And Bandslam is seriously a good movie (no lie, check it out). I'm ok with Efron getting more serious work.

Gotcha… I was confused for a sec. I thought maybe he did the screenplay adaptation or something. Stardust isn't bad, and I don't know if it was ever judged as being bad or mediocre. It just did poorly in the box office. I've never seen The Golden Compass, but it's another one that did poorly in the US box office

Yeah Ugly Americans has been pretty good so far. I find myself laughing a lot, and the sheer amount of insanity in last night's episode was pretty awesome. I also can't believe they're getting away with some of the language. It's weird to see a cartoon that's not South Park get away with something like that.

What did Matthew Vaughn have to do with the Golden Compass movie?

No he's not; in fact, he's quite correct in his estimation. Millar's concepts may have been "edgy" and interesting in 1985, but in 2010, it comes off more as an homage/parody of the Alan Moore/Frank Miller stuff in the 80s.

I saw him at Chicago Comic Con (Wizard World?) last year and thought he was a total douche, but literally everyone else was fawning over him.

Before S6, I was wishing they wouldn't bring back Michael. And he was in what, two scenes tonight? Will he be back? He's really my least favorite character on the show.

I didn't expect her to die like that, and in retrospect am a bit sad she was dispatched in such a manner.

B+
B+ is pretty much what I'd give this episode. And for as much as I've bashed Ilana on these boards, that was a pretty ignominious end for her. I didn't want to see her go out *that* way (though it was a nice callback to Dr. Arzt).

Nope, the old mom and pop watch Mad Men and Sons of Anarchy pretty religiously. I got them into Mad Men's first season and it was on from there. My younger brother got them into Sons of Anarchy. My dad is an American Legion, hard-fighting, hard-drinking type, so of course he'd be into both of these shows.

For a long while, DVDs have been so cheap that you're almost better off buying it new at Target for 14.99 than to rent it at Blockbuster for $5. Netflix, Redbox, et al are changing this considerably for me. I honestly can't remember the last time I bought a DVD or BluRay. I think I'm putting Red Box's mechanical

My parents only use Netflix to catch up on tv-on-dvd, being that they work nights and all. It's a convenient way for them to watch Sons of Anarchy and Mad Men and not have to worry about learning to use a fancy DVR machine (why they just stopped using the VCR is a mystery to me).

Agreed, buddy. I actually looked *forward* to hearing Nine Days or whatever as well as Eve 6 in the days I drove a 1985 Ford Ltd. with no tape deck or cd player.

Compared to dreck like Nickelback and Staind, 3 Doors Down *are* Led Zeppelin.

I prefer Beer Fest to Super Troopers, though Club Dread was sub-par.

I'm a bit confused though, because the 1989 Batman (I assume) is also listed above, but has been on BRD (I refuse to call it BD… to me BD is "behavioral disorder), but it's been available for at least a year and probably longer.

Every time Tyler Perry shows up in the TBS promo to say "Very funny!" I always yell "NO YOU'RE NOT!" at my tv. Yes, I yell at my tv.

In fairness to Clash of the Titans…
…125 million is really no longer a gargantuan number for an effects-driven blockbuster's budget.

ICP…
…are wretched. Even as a disillusioned 14 year old, I knew this. Why do they have such a (seemingly) strong following? What the fuck is wrong with people?

Law Abiding Citizen
I rented this from Red Box and watched it a few weeks ago. I went in totally prepared that it was going to suck, but it wasn't even "so bad it's good." It never turns from being bad to awesomely bad. I found the pacing to be extremely tedious, the story to be way too meandering (Foxx's family
