As far as I could tell, Roseanne was much less the "men are pigs" show than a lot of sitcoms that came after it. Compare how Dan Connor is portrayed to Ray Barone, for instance.

Normalized lesbians, too. I remember the Parent's Television Council taking out a full page ad in the local paper because they were quite put out with an episode featuring Sandra Bernhard's character.

Even though my family was more well-off than the Connors, most of my friends' families weren't. And we had a messy house, too. Roseanne had the only messy house on TV.

It seems to me that Roseanne is 1.) a crazy, crazy woman, both clinically and figuratively 2.) right about a bunch of stuff about how women get treated badly 3.) often a pretty big asshole 4.) really funny.

Fetus' develop "hearts" that beat in about their sixth week of gestation, ie, probably after the stick turns blue.

Well, the important thing is that you like the original album version better than the single remix, more so than whatever story is attached to it. According to my cube neighbor, Brian VanderArk has kinda offered different explanations at different points in time. Something about his first kid who he didn't really see

I saw About Schmidt and just didn't connect with it. It seemed too broad to be an actual character study and too drama-y to be really funny. Nicholson was good, yeah, but every other character just didn't seem like people to me. Sideways, I just took a pass on.

You wouldn't really know that unless you had a former Verve Pipe fanatic in the next cube to tell you about it, though. Or at least I wouldn't.

You can be  for abortion being legal or against abortion being legal. Everything else is meaningless posturing. Women are going to get abortions one way or the other, or so says every society in the history of earth. How you want to deal with that fact is more meaningful that the reasoning you put behind it.
