As for a remake that was lauded and was just a few years after the original, you can always look at the US remakes of foreign films, like The Departed.
Amazing Spider-Man was a reboot, not a remake. It re-told Peter's origin story but changed significant parts of it. They are really not that similar. Mary Jane isn't even in the new movies.
