I usually like them just fine, and Charlie of course is great. It just seems like in this one, an early draft of the script had the men in the office haranguing the woman for some kind of comic payoff later, and they left in the haranguing but forgot the payoff.

Pfft, without "Do You Realize??" and "Heaven Is a Place on Earth," this list is woefully incomplete.

"It's my BALLS, Bow! My BALLS!"

"I do have to say that I’m still not feeling those workplace scenes; the ongoing joke about the way the men dismiss the lone woman are rapidly losing me."

It worked for me because the fact that there wasn't another scene with the kids implied the degree to which Dre was ignoring them.

Heck, I don't like Girls but it's objectively better than The Americans.

Patton Oswalt's latest thing seems to be mixing up one good point about our current discourse with some dumb and self-serving ideas about it.

Don't underestimate how much conservative white money is living in those surrounding hills. Also, Austin is the state capital, so Texas would probably invade it to take it back.

Billy Spears? The Sgt. Pepper's guy?

They're pretty bad, but a lot of comedians make a lot of bad jokes when they're starting out. Like I said, I'd be much more worried if this had happened, like, last week.

It is weird who the AV Club does and doesn't choose to snark on. I never thought I'd see a GJI written by a female writer defending the guy defending the guy making fat-chick jokes, but here we are.

By the way: Why is it any of your damn business what people do in their bedrooms? No one is trying to "force anything on society". No one's making you gay if you aren't gay.

Yeah, just to be clear, I agree with you, and think "Islam is at fault!" is inaccurate and a gross oversimplification.

It's a dumb joke. But it was also from, like, 2009. It's not like he made it a few days ago and it reflects his current beliefs and opinions of what's funny and appropriate. If, like, upon the announcement he got the hosting job, he'd Tweeted "This is a dream come true, I feel like a fat girl in a cupcake store," THAT

It's weird how there continues to be religious-based conflict around the world, including America (hello, Christian terrorists murdering abortion doctors), despite the fact that Islam is a religion that SPECIFICALLY AND ESPECIALLY encourages violence.

Your friend is also a bigot. Homosexuality is not a choice— everything we know about how the human brain works indicates that. You choose to disregard science because it conflicts with your innate bigotry.

Saudi Arabia is a horrible place. It's also one of I believe 47 Muslim-dominant countries in the world— they don't all act that way, which is what you would expect if this was inherently a problem with Islam.

"The truth" in generalizations like the Islamic religion is "not just a few bad apples"?
