He doesn't have to be "squeaky clean," but he's also never really faced any consequences for operating outside the bounds of the law. Consequences are the difference between drama and fantasy.

I mean, he had no cause for searching Zachariah's shed, he just went in and did it because he wanted to. It would be a bullshit ending if Raylan's tendency to play fast and loose with the law didn't come back on him somehow.
I've been waiting for the Marshals to make a move on Wynn ever since they taped he and Mikey torturing the security guard.
One thing it seemed clear to me that Raylan didn't get in season 4 is that even criminals can have certain values, a particular sense of honor, etc. Hunter protected Drew because Drew protected him and won Hunter's loyalty. He would literally rather die than sell him out.
I agree. I don't think they slept together; I think Katherine was just messing with Art's head.
I like your analysis. One thing that has worried me about the show is that it's going to end without Raylan ever confronting those delusions, with him getting exactly what he wants and walking away, with no sense of consequences or cost for all the things he's done.
You simply don't amass that kind of money and stay alive that long as a criminal if you are inept.
I'm such a big fan of that chugging beat from the get-go, and the way it slightly shifts key during the chorus always gets me too. But that's also one of my favorite choruses of the whole decade, probably.
One reason I don't mind shorter episode runs is that there's SO MUCH good television out there. I did the math when making my "best of 2014" list and figured I must have regularly watched about 30 shows last year. I'm fine with 30 shows x 13 episodes if those are really good episodes. (In fact, I felt like it was the…
Little bit of both.
Are you me? Because this is exactly how I feel.
The machine is mankind’s madness and disfigurement. Industry castrates art. The only honesty is in suicide.
I've tried, but this and the Young Liars EP remain my favorite works of theirs. "Satellite," the first track on their first EP, is still my favorite.
The R-rated "Full Rack" LEGO set was quickly pulled from stores after its release.
Never saw it.
I heard "It's not just the money…" Could want to get back at Markham for burning him… could be about something we don't know about yet.
They were saying $3 million at the beginning of the season, right? Now Boyd thinks it's more like $10 million. Yeah, this smells like a setup.
And Garret Dillahunt's karmic circle of shooting a man in the back is complete.
Oh, I agree. I have a standing prescription for some chronic pain caused by some serious injuries in my past (vicoprofen, thank God), but my doc recently had to drop my dose simply because the regulations made it impossible (or at least, extraordinarily inconvenient) for her to prescribe more than 30 at time.
