"I think it makes him sound like a horse's ass."
"Love your neighbor as yourself" = only love those who look like and believe the same things you do
"Care for the poor" = pass laws to criminalize poverty and feeding the homeless
"Care for the sick" = fight affordable health care tooth and nail, even long after the fight has been lost
Wow, that was remarkable. Maybe my favorite piece so far. Really powerful and moving and honest.
Did you check out that link?
You can start here: https://thedissolve.com/fea…
I actually only discovered it because the Dissolve made it their movie of the week last year.
I don't think you really need to be familiar with the sketch. The sketch is more of a parody of MacGyver, whereas the movie is a parody of 80s action movies. You just need to know MacGruber is a useless piece of shit.
I thought about that, but the character's name is WESTley, and there's no way Ben or Leslie would make that mistake. (Note: If it turns out the kid's name IS Westley and we've just been hearing it wrong, disregard.)
Can't wait for this. Forte is such a committed portrayer of singularly weird characters. I'd watch him in pretty much anything after seeing the MacGruber movie (which you should see if you haven't). Should be at the very least an interesting, unique show.
I clicked the link just to see what Mike Mills was up to! Dammit, Marah!
Aahhh!
It's one of my favorite songs, so when I first heard it in this episode I may have let out a squeal of delight, or approximate / appropriate noise. (I think. It was like 15 years ago.)
Ooh, Ice Creamville!
I love that song, so the first time I saw this episode was a real treat.
I remember for the 16-bit systems that anything under $60 was a bargain.
"You look like you're allergic to your own face.
"You look like you need an IV of Proactiv.
"I didn't know you could get Ebola just on your face!"
Lil' Kev's mic drop is a perfect ending that also ties all the stories together.
Huh. They do kinda go together musically, insofar as anything Fred Durst is involved with can be said to work musically.
"I got a cookie up my yeah. Million-to-one shot, doc. Million-to-one."
