The author of the article mentioned his roles in Barton Fink and Miller's Crossing, and I couldn't remember either (and IMDB has no listing for him in Miller's Crossing), so I had assumed the author confused Shalhoub with John Turturro.

Just to add to this, Marshall has both acknowledged he has a mental illness, sought treatment for it, and hasn't had trouble (as far as I know) for at least several years now, since getting on a regimen of medications and therapy that works for him.
