Gregg Easterbrook really is America's expert on what's hip.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

Obviously should have taken advice from Comedy Central network-mate Nathan Fielder and gotten poo flavor.

It's still one of my favorite quirks (and by "quirks" I mean "series of bad decisions") that the Bills drafted a running back in the first round three times in eight years.

Pretty strong case considering Bill Belichick acts more or less the same way at press conferences and I've never seen a sportswriter say anything about how he should be more grateful and deferential.

I certainly don't feel that way about EVERYONE in academia, but this guy certainly fits the bill. And in general I find Calvin (of "and Hobbes" fame) to have the best take on academia (which I will share if I can find it).

They're millionaires who are paid by billionaires, billionaires who include all sorts of frauds and tax cheats, and who constantly blackmail local residents into financing their new stadiums. If income inequality is your issue, start with ownership, not labor.

If anything, the shorter careers only further strengthen your point.

Ah, academia. The bubble where the marginally intelligent go to hide from anything that would puncture their overinflated self-opinion.

Shit, Lynch has already had a very long career for a running back. Eight years. At that position, 3-5 is more likely.

Roger Goodell declined an interview with NBC this week. Haven't seen much chest-beating from sportswriters about that. It's NBC, for fuck's sake, they don't have anyone willing to challenge him on anything.

I posted this Bryan Curtis article further down, but I repost it because everyone needs to read it. THIS is how to do media day:

(Although I'm surprised he hasn't gone in on Goodell, as much as he likes to climb up on Mt. Pious.)

I wasn't sure where to share this, but it absolutely needs to be brought to the attention of both Teti and the B&T readers. Particularly appropriate for a column about Media Day. Would that things like this happened more often.

I had the thought that they didn't want to use Chappelle's Show in the blurb lest they be accused of only comparing "Black" sketch comedy shows to each other, but that seemed like a stretch even for AVC.

The funniest sketch comedy since Mr. Show? Geez, is everyone forgetting Chappelle's Show existed?

"Honestly the only reason I came back to this show this week was because the Fox comedies were repeats and it didn't really do much for me."

Crap, damn it, I am White Daryl.
