I wish I still had my JP lunchbox. That movie was childhood to me.

I love mindless fun popcorn movies, but I'll readily admit that they're almost completely forgettable after you see them. 'The Avengers' was a really fun movie. After I saw 'The Avengers,' I didn't think about it again until I was bored one night and noticed that it was streaming on Netflix.
I really don't think the clues were John's downfall. He shared them with Brad and he trusted Brad. Brad was the real problem. John got voted out because of a very specific set of circumstances—wife winning a bunch of challenges on RI, Brad overextending his reach. Brad played a weird connect the dot games where he…
The strategy re: hidden immunity idol has just been bizarre. I understand (I guess?) that there's an inherent fear that getting a clue makes you a bigger threat, but the advantage you have by getting the idol should outweigh that. John didn't get voted out because he was receiving clues to the idol from Candice. He…
These long lists remind me that I took a break from Survivor for approximately ten seasons. I don't remember half these people.
Agreed. The show's been building this up for a while (at least since the tribe swap, maybe earlier). Really, I'm surprised that the plan worked perfectly. I thought that the merge would muddy the waters and that Aras would have far more support. It's a smart move, because the Aras/Vytas thing could have been a…
Usually the show's a little better about muddying the waters as to who will be voted out, but this episode, Aras was sooooooo getting the axe. I still think Vytas is getting a really good edit, though, and I wouldn't be shocked if he is able to right the ship.
Definitely. Everybody thinks they're in a strong position in every alliance. That's why you so rarely see bottom members of alliances switch, even when to us, it's clear that they are on the outside of their own alliance.
Critics do love to love Kanye, but that's at least partly because Kanye takes musical chances and doesn't stick to formula. Take the differences between '808's/Heartbreak' 'Twisted Fantasy' and 'Yeezus.' Those albums have almost nothing in common except that they were all released by the same guy. Whether all these…
This grade seems pretty accurate to me.
I remember when Eminem mattered. Good to see that he is allegedly releasing non-awful music once more.
Maybe it's the fact that I was aged seven and obsessed with dinosaurs in 1993, but I'm extremely disappointed that 'Jurassic Park' did not get its own entry here. That movie was EVERYWHERE. Not only did it have special effects that still stand up today (the computer effects were revolutionary, but the practical…
'Apollo 13' is compulsively rewatchable.
I thought we all agreed to allow that version of 'The Great Gatsby' to completely disappear into the maw of history.
'Misery' is near the top of my personal list. What a perfect match of actress/character in Kathy Bates/Annie Wilkes. The book is a lot more gruesome (foot cut off, leg stump cauterized with a blowtorch, thumb chopped off, etc), but the movie does not suffer for the fact that there's less violence. The hobbling…
I've thought about having a 'Halloween' marathon, but it seems pointless. Why watch all of them when I could watch the original, plus a bunch of other good horror movies? Or I guess I could "interact with people," but I'm reasonably certain that's not going to happen tomorrow night. Horror movie marathon it is!
Not a great episode (I would give it a C), but gave us some necessary pre-merge cleaning. I was mostly watching baseball during the first twenty-minutes, just because I was not interested in the Kat Show. I generally like Kat when she is being harmlessly cute while inadvertently destroying the English language. And…
If you're watching '13 Ghosts' so early in the process, there's no way you'll make it 24-hours. Your body will just be like, "This is bullshit, I'm going to sleep, later."
I thought the first 'Hostel' film was solid enough, just because it seemed like an interesting (and disturbing) idea.
