Indeed. The Angels were still interesting until one of them became the Statue of Liberty, which was just ridiculous. Thankfully we've not heard from them since and hopefully not for a few more series.

Its funny last week I was calling Joe a scrooge, this week its Sonia. Though I think the whole Ross throws the game is definitely a guys idea of something they think is chivalrous but actually isnt, but as Phoebe points out in a later episode "No good deed is unselfish".

They do both seem like the kind of Friends who would do that. Sign of the times I guess. Nowadays that would be front and center. These were the times where the pilot got bad reviews because Monica slept with a guy on the first date.

Yeah I never warmed to Ursula. The best one with her is probably the one where she does porn, but even then its not great.

Yeah so Joe is definitely the "thinks far too much about it" Scrooge of these particular reviews. If you don't like network intrusion why are you reviewing a 90's sitcom? Gonna end in little Will and Grace shaped tears.

Joey did also have other jobs. He worked at Central Perk for at least one episode (and i think he chatted up a customer during that episode), he also worked as a perfume sprayer and was an soap opera acting teacher for an episode.

Yawn Community. Its not like there are unnamed recurring extras in any other shows, like every other show ever thats had more than a handful of episodes. For example every version of Star Trek, Chuck, Friends, etc.

Yeah but that was like 10 episodes ago.

They do show Monica and Phoebe eating a lasagne, which is odd because its clearly stated that they are not vegitarian whilst in later seasons Phoebe is very much a veggie.

Not the first time we've seen Chandler and Joeys appartment, but the previous episode (The one with Mrs Bing) was probably the first time anything major happened there. (I remember earlier there were a few audition run through scenes with the two boys.

Its a joke from the episode. Chandler to his Mom "You kissed my best Ross!"

I'm sad that you guys didn't like these two episodes. But maybe that's a reviewer thing as I cant really think of many reasons to defend the two. I just like them (I think we're going to have this problem alot on these reviews).

Its Janice but not nearly as annoying as she becomes. Shes quite "normal" here. I think the laugh appears in her second season one appearance. Or maybe third. I love the Valentines Day (third) one. "You've set me up with a girl I've dumped twice in the last five months"

I too thought these two episodes, particularly the second one, were the beginning of Friends as I remember it. Though both episode titles suck. The whole premise of The one with.. is that this is what you say over the water cooler the next day, but really? the East German Laundry Detergent?  Both episode titles should

The note about Monica knowing about Ross's virginity can be explained away. She knows it was his first time with Carol, but doesnt know it was his first time ever.

Favourite character was Chandler. I wanted to be him. How pathetic is that!

Ive only seen the extended Pilot so far, but I'd say its superior to the broadcast version. At least in so much as it gives the characters more room to breathe and become a bit closer to who they are for the rest of season one. The broadcast version, like most pilots, is mostly heavy lifting which as the reviewers

Watching the Pilot for the first time in a couple of years, I cannot help but annoy myself by being able to recite most lines a split second before they happen. I hate it when that happens.

I think David Schwimmer would consider his theatre career to be a success. Just because someone's not on TV or in movies doesn't mean they've had a shit career.

Are you watching the extended DVD versions or the 22 minute versions?
