Technically, the montage wasn't the opening scene. But it is one of the greatest early scenes.

It's a family movie, not a little kids movie. But I can see how going in with the wrong expectations could have ruined the experience.

Has noone mentioned the bizarro Times Square in the trailer? It looks the way TS looked in the early 80s (old storefronts, lots of neon), except with billboards for random Columbia Pictures movies like "Tommy" Also, there's a meta-Twinkies billboard in there.
