C. Thomas Howell is to Elliot's brother (in E.T.) as Billy Zane is to Biff Tannen.

I'm still mad at country fans and country radio for turning their back on the Dixie Chicks, and leaving their back turned for going on ten years (!).  They were the best thing to happen to mainstream country in ages.   I'm also still upset that nobody in country music defended, if not the comment, at least their right

As one who's tolerant of a good 90s pop song, I'll take Take That's five relatively half-decent songs to Backstreet Boys' two ("I Want It That Way" and "Quit Playing Games").  *NSYNC had no good songs and neither did NKOTB.

I thought Argo was a fantastic movie.   As a Canadian, I was a bit troubled by the downplaying of Canada's role, but I was thoroughly entertained by it, and would gladly see it again.

"Best Sound: Les Misérables"

Has anyone noticed that nobody on the show wears glasses?

Too soon (didn't Marvin Hamlisch write that song?).

I first heard Sondheim's "Send in the Clowns" on The Muppet Show.   Does that count?

I'm an "It Goes Like it Goes" person, because it beat "Rainbow Connection" at the Oscars and therefore must be a better song.

Well, this song came first, so…

I'll add votes for "I Don't Want to Live on the Moon" (from Sesame Street) and "He'll Make Me Happy" (from The Muppets Take Manhattan).

But some people haven't liked "Zero Dark Thirty" for whatever reason.

How does a director get an award from the Director's Guild but is not nominated by the Academy's director branch?    That seems like a statistical improbability.

For a totally self-indulgent movie, "This is 40" wasn't that bad.  Not nearly as bad as it looks.

Keri Russell's hair and outfit practically screams 1981.

Uggh.  You're right.  And since "Let it Go" and "Rise Up" are pretty much the same song, there's no excuse on my part.

1) They're Canadian and 2) it's 80s music, so I expect nothing less than an album that combines the best of Romeo Void, Sherry Kean, The Spoons, Tu, Platinum Blonde, Gowan, Trans-X, Paul Janz, Zappacosta, Dalbello and Zit Remedy.

Does anyone know who has the right to release 1977's "Star Wars"?

"No Country" (or your grandparents) might be the exception that proves the rule.   It wasn't exactly a mainstream film.  Well, it was until the end, at least.

"Bill, it's your cousin, Marvin.  Marvin ENGVALL.   You know that actress you were looking to cast to play your daughter on that new sitcom of yours?  Well look at this!"
