I smell ice cream!
I always thought it was unrealistic that Chunk is able to "smell" ice cream in the Fratelli's basement. The ice cream is in a freezer. Have you ever walked through the frozen food aisle at a grocery store only to be overwhelmed by the intoxicating scent of frozen dairy treats? No.

I think I can help out here.

Mega Man FPS
I haven't played it yet, but I can only assume that it's too good to be true. The screenshot alone made me come in my pants.

"She was sitting drinking her coffee, and she was SO BEAUTIFUL, and I say 'hi' to her and that's how we met."

I'd bet dollars to donuts that Joe Dante saw Popcorn before he made Matinee.

Won me over
I just want to say one thing: everyone has a favorite Deftones album (even their debut has its admirers), but this new one is easily one of the Deftones finest. I, for one, consider it #1.

A Better Cult Movie
1977's The Demon Lover, aka The Devil Master. This schlock classic boasts unsanely bad performances and an impenetrable plot. Satanic cult leader Laval Blessing is portrayed by producer Jerry Younkins (using the pseudonym "Christmas Robbins"!), a man who allegedly financed the film through

I appreciate how these DVD reviews focus on content, but it would be helpful to touch on audio/visual quality and other technical specs, especially when reviewing a Warner Archives release that might seem like a dubious purchase to the average consumer. By not acknowledging the commercial artifact itself, these

It's brilliant sketch comedy, to be sure, but the show was brimming with bits that are at least as good as Pre-Taped Call-In Show. I've never felt that it was exponentially greater than the majority of the other sketches.

It's their first album for Sub Pop…
… but is it as good as "Bleach"?

I ain't gonna spend my life stinkin' of peppah!

Get to the "ass nipples", what's that all about?

Theme song influence?
I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned this on these boards, but the Mr. Show theme is weirdly reminiscent of Roxy Music's "Three And Nine" from the album Country Life, particularly when the vocal melody first comes in:

Great to see this show getting the attention it deserves
I've been a huge fan of this program ever since the movie introduced me to the (comicly!) strange world of Homer, Grandpaw, Bert and others(the list literally goes on forever.)

As long as you are pleased, Gerard, the feature shall continue forthwith!

Favorite Winnebago Man moment?
Jack Rebney (furiously swatting at fly): "Get out of here you goddamn jackass!"

Taste Test suggestion
When are you gonna try Purple Drank?

Fascination Street
One of my favorite bass lines. The Cure were making pop music that utterly blew away the majority of what was being played on the radio at the time.

The Simpsons Movie is based on a long-running television show, you jackass. It's similarly titled "The Simpsons". Perhaps you've heard of it?

It might be more of a side-project yes, but the Wu-Tang family tree is so convoluted that I think an album released during the group's peak and featuring RZA rapping on every track can certainly be considered relevant. It's probably some of his best and most aggressive vocals as well.
