It seems we are reading 2 different reviews. I don't see "multiple paragraphs" detailing O'Dowd's vulnerability. He simply seems to be the protagonist and his name appears multiple times in describing the plot.

Rabin also says her aggressive nature is necessitated by the socio-political environment and that O'Dowd's character is a drunken opportunist. Why is it that HIS attraction to HER is the one singled out to be unbelievable?
I am astounded that anyone found the chips gag funny. I didn't get it at all. It felt like yet another nod to a joke that never reached a punchline, something that has happened all too much this season.
This review gives me hope because the trailers were a bit dreadful.
I can easily believe this film suffers from a lack of originality, but I'll need something more to buy the lack of chemistry between O'Dowd and the eldest sister.

Are we so inured to misogyny in rap music that the fact the 3 separate tracks on this record have "Bitch" in the TITLE doesn't even deserve a mention? I know offensiveness is their gimmick but come on. I think the reviewer is giving them too much credit for not incorporating TtC's rape rhetoric. I've yet to hear a…
I did. I would not have gone as low as a D+, but it was tepid at best. The story is limp and some of the happenings are completely contrived, but it was not a horrible way to spend an hour and 30 minutes (I'm estimating, but it was a very short film).
I'd characterize it as a very slight film.
I saw it for David…
