"But I know she couldn’t ask me that same thing. It just wouldn’t be right from her side, since I am her little sister’s best friend."

Disagree. I love letters like MLIA's because they give hope to those of us who would love to be part of the fantasies described. "YES, THIS CAN HAPPEN!"

Yep, as @avclub-64eec0c3fb6b12c43f51ec9e9c773fed:disqus says, it's Lucy Schwartz. This song.

"Not to be mean, but now I'm going to say something mean. But far worse, it will be unfunny."

Thank you, @avclub-808e22af6c33eea22608f30cef458844:disqus, for bringing a necessary spirit to these unfortunate proceedings. I feel like you could have taken those words right out of Tony Soprano's mouth.

@avclub-c255c05246a081654a0267cbb725f5a7:disqus No, it's instead of "so does the pain." It totally sounds like "soldiers burping," even now that I know the real words.

Not a single mention of Barry Zuckerkorn's awful comments about Ron Howard?

I had no idea, and it's one of those moments where I'm glad to be a person who fails to notice things like that, because it was way funnier to find out nine or ten episodes later.

Yeah, it's tremendous. And yes, there's plenty of theater-people drama. It's really well worth your time.

All the girls on Head of the Class. Apparently, even at age ten, I felt that only a small harem could suitably address my needs.

Right there with you.

@avclub-6997a8bd0e1042b70b60c5c879a1780e:disqus No. You are one of those terrible people, and we're going to kill you.

@avclub-782066c88e9c574d6085f3ddfc7032e4:disqus I love how some people have simultaneously heralded season four as this attempt to experiment with a new medium and then gotten annoyed that it isn't the same viewing experience that network TV was.

@avclub-6d0cbc987f0ee695ca4e8d07ecde8d7a:disqus Yeah, but I sympathize. Their job is to provide an instant reaction, and I imagine when you're sitting there watching with your "I have to write about this!" brain on, you're looking extra-hard for stuff to say. And who has the time or energy to watch fifteen episodes

It's like everyone forgot that, you know, the first three seasons had some clunky parts too, and then almost a decade to be compulsively rewatched and marinate in everyone's brains. I'm making my way through for a second time, and the new season (which I already enjoyed) is much funnier with a little foreknowledge —

That fact over there?

Lines like that are what make the whole show for me. I understand how you come up with "I'm afraid that I just blue myself." I have no idea how you come up with needing a sailboat painting to send a strongly worded letter, but it's pure perfection.

Art! Now we are writing a letter.

It's a wonderful restaurant!

I don't think it's an insult to anyone's intelligence. I'm pretty musically aware, and I'd just never bothered to check out "Deceptacon." I'm familiar with Le Tigre's place in the music world; they're just not a group I ever checked out. And calling this an old standard (I don't think you're being facetious?) is just
