While not the same style, he's done other vocal albums, or more song-like albums, since then. Neural Net (along with the FINALLY released My Squelchy Life that comes with the latest reissue) and Another Day On Earth are two of my favorites, and also Small Boat On A Milk Sea for instrumentals that aren't ambient.

Not a great movie, no, but it's mindlessly entertaining, and I really enjoy the scene when his cop-friend attempts to commandeer Charles Grodin's car. But Charles Grodin is pretty much always gold.

Schwing…?

I don't even know what this is referring to. Guess I'm not cool anymore.

Edge Of Groundhog Day.

"It's better than Angry Birds!" is how they should be marketing this movie.

She looks more like Debbie Reynolds than Carrie Fisher. Whose daughter is she, REALLY?

She's only an Oscar-winning actress, and a well-respected actress in general prior to that. Of course it must be her fault.

Something to listen to?

PHM is very "of its time," and that's okay. I still listen to it and enjoy it a lot, maybe more now than I did in the past because I so wanted the versions on the album to sound more like the live versions. Now I just embrace it as it is - an album that sounds like 1989's idea of "edgy."

These guys. So critical. Zero respect for the art of swag-making. How much swag have you made in your life? Go make some and tell me how judgy you feel afterward.

Looks like it does - the site says "1LP + 7 + hi res digital." I still have my original near-mint CD release tucked safely away, the one with the adorable little 3" CD with Physical and Suck on it. Never going to be worth much but I like having it in pristine shape.

Older stuff sounds "better" on vinyl because it was mastered specifically for vinyl, which has limitations on how loud the audio can be made before causing distortion. This is that "warm" sound people talk about. Newer music is mastered for CD, which offers a much higher dynamic range, but that's been exploited for

So what he's saying with The Fragile: Deviations 1 not having a digital release and ONLY a vinyl release is that I should wait for it to show up on pirate sites and get it for free? Got it.

I don't even consider bootlegs/rare/obscure/unreleased stuff as "pirating." That's all stuff no one was going to make money off of anyway. To me that stuff is fair game. If you're a big enough fan to know about it and how to get it, then you've likely already bought everything they officially have to offer.

And I'll throw in some of my favorites from 2016:

Well, you're right about Bowie and Radiohead.

She did an album with Pete Yorn that is surprisingly good.

In other words, a penis and testicles?

This is bullshit. According to a comment on What HiFi (because the actual study is mysteriously missing when attempting to follow their link) "The study says they chose 32 kb 56 kb and 112 birates as low middle and high quality because listeners could not reliably tell a difference above 112 kbps." Who rips audio that
