Something others have missed is that Ani is offended at the suggestion that she use her feminine wiles, while in an earlier scene with Woodrough (sp?) she suggests he "use that pretty face" to get information from the mayor's wife.

They've gone on record as having crafted this series around all of the events in the three books. When it is over, it'll have encompassed the entirety of the three books. Whatever they do beyond that will be brand new material (and probably suck.)
Upvoted for the Hip and I Mother Earth. I never hear anyone mention IME. Their first two albums are excellent (Dig and Scenery And Fish.) After that, the singer left and things changed.
DOWNVOTE!
All I care about is more Whose Line Is It Anyway.
Such a great book for sciencey dorks like me. Lots of fun. I'm cautiously optimistic about the film. I think that because it IS so journal-ish that it has a better chance of being a very good interpretation.
Yeah, well, do we have any proof that she isn't?
I find most of the comments on this piece bizarre. Yeah! Let's support someone who wants to make it harder for us to enjoy her work! This three month trial thing is stupid to get hung up over. After the trial, they'll be paid more than they're getting from the other services. After the trial, they'll likely have far…
You really owe it to yourself to give A Matter Of Life And Death a fighting chance. I think it's among their best albums - maybe number 6 to "the big five" (Number Of The Beast through Seventh Son.)
Baby birds are called "bees."
That's why I said "his more recent bands are better." His last couple of tours have had great bands. Heck, on the last tour, he was going to have Adrian Belew play guitar! I would love to know what prompted Reznor to drop him at the last minute. Belew was pretty upset about that on Facebook. Between getting dumped off…
Kind of… but I don't know if it's more Trent saying "I like Skinny Puppy so I'll make SP-ish sounds" or truly ripping-off. I think it's more the former, and I enjoy its relative one-off nature. But Skinny Puppy is so much more extreme, even at their most commercially-palatable.
For me, it is about the craft. Listen to The Downward Spiral closely, preferably on headphones, and concentrate on the actual sounds. It's a pretty fascinating album in that respect. He's pieced together songs from textures and rhythms that are easy to overlook if you don't pay attention. It's one album that I…
"Hidden tracks" are the CD-era's worst indulgence. You either get one extremely, annoyingly long track at the end of the CD, or the extra songs are "hidden" by being the last of 99 available tracks on a CD, preceded by 89 2-second long tracks. (Those are equally fun in the digital era - they just transferred that…
But that other level is lower, so…
That may be your Bluray player, not the disc. Our first one was touchy and finally we had a couple titles we couldn't play at all. Bought a new one and have never had a problem since then.
You have never seen a bluray player in anyone's home? I don't see how this is possible. I don't know anyone that owns only a DVD-only player.
"Don't forget it also (for better or worse) led to the rise of more "Extended cuts" of movies. Sure, some pushed it too far (LOTR…)"
I'm not sure this is entirely correct. DVDs are cheap to produce. Bluray has copy protection and other things that require extra fees, from what I read, which is why DVD is still the reigning champ for video on a budget. There are still concerts being released on DVD only because of this (Depeche Mode's most recent…
I can't be alone in looking at the GotG tracklist and, aside from Bowie, going "BLECH." I heard this shit all the time when I was kid and it was terrible then. It's still terrible now.
