The struggle that the "under 35 set" don't seem to understand is that a LOT of recent (and by recent I mean "the last 15-20 years") of reissues have been destroyed by over-compressed remastering. I'm not going to listen to that shitty sounding remaster of Operation: Mindcrime when I have the great original on CD, and

I don't generally like the term "sell out" but I think it is warranted when a band starts out making "their own thing" but changes to making music that sounds like they're trying very hard to get it shoehorned into commercials or TV shows. That's what I feel The Black Keys have done. I'm all for bands growing and

I've never understood much of Catherine Wheel's lyrics but I don't know how anyone could mistake Black Metallic as a song about a woman after paying attention to the lyrics. And Dickinson is obsessed with cars so much so that his Porsche modifying business seems to be his sole focus now. We'll probably never get

She's not, though. She's in a weird position because she's beautiful in a technical way, but simply not attractive.

"a divorced person who goes to a gay gym"

"Prometheus may be an instructive test case"

"'Who’s that girl?' This week in New Girl pseudonyms, alter egos, and nicknames:"

"Even Morgan’s fertility scrubs and party outfit are in the same hue."

Remember, I LIVE in Arizona and have for all of my 42 years. I've been to Tucson a million times. It's ugly. I live in Phoenix. It's also ugly. I've been to the Desert Museum and it's a cool place. But every city has "cool places." Tucson is most definitely not one of the most beautiful places in the country, sorry.

Children's music is catchy. Doesn't mean I like the theme from Calliou. Catchy doesn't equal good. It just means "crafted as such that it sticks with you."

Pepsi. The choice of a new generation.

Those storms are hit and miss, and usually very short-lived. Huge blast of wind, 15-20 minutes of rain, and done for usually a couple days. And lately, they've been getting more sparse, though we get the huge dust storms more often than I ever remember before. But overall, they're more of an inconvenience than a

Humidity is kryptonite to us dry-heaters. I can handle 115 degrees, but stick me someplace with 85 degrees and 75% humidity and I'm going to die.

That was the one thing I kept coming back to: "Tucson?" I'm an Arizona native so I get placing the show in someplace as bland and "nothing" as Tucson. But realistically it's pretty ugly, it's hot as hell, and there's absolutely nothing to do there, even for abandoned-world people. I wouldn't live in Phoenix, either,

I think Alien3 is actually pretty great as long as you get past the issue of killing off Newt and Hicks. Just ignore those two minutes or whatever and take the film on its own merits. It's a solid story and pretty intriguing concept.

It wasn't terrible, but it did seem like a lost opportunity. I really like that he's continuing to examine his past material and actually sees that something didn't work, rather than pedantically complaining that people didn't get it or just outright ignoring the issues the movie had. Gives me a lot of hope for

James is great, one of my very favorite bands. I feel like they are what U2 had hoped to be in the 90s, but never could manage to grasp what it is that is so special about James.

Funniest moment of the episode: Brett goes foraging for food in the studio and starts bitching about having to stay, his boss tells him to cool it, and Brett says "I AM a ghost in chains." The asshole director lets out a huge laugh. That was seriously hilarious.

I had better let the Fresh Beat Band know that they should change their name to Ripe Root-Vegetable Band.

What a waste of anger to be offended by blandness. That's the stuff you just move on from if you encounter it. I cannot imagine getting worked up about a song like this. Crazy Town's "Butterfly." Now THAT is an offensive piece of garbage.
