I think the idea he was trying to communicate was more that Gene goes rogue from witpro and finishes his life out as James McGill.

That felt like the only seam, and even then I wasn't 100% sure.

This makes a lot of sense. You can tell it gets into some kind of wheeled vehicle about a third of the way in because of the way the motion changes. There's no way they could have done that with a drone or cameraman moving in a consistent way for the whole scene.
