They take the piss out of themselves too, especially on LASM. That album was the first thing I thought of when I saw this article.

I listened to that twice. It was fun.

Was Empty Nest a spinoff of Soap?

That's a Great Idea!

Aw, man. I totally would have bought one if I had known that other people would be paying ridiculous amounts for them so soon.

Twice I had tickets to see Bill Monroe perform and twice he canceled. Then he died. Don't cancel on me.

I've been thinking the same thing. The room temp must have been sub zero just to judge from the coolness in that shot.

Dave Hoekstra wrote a really nice tribute that touches on the rougher aspects of her life:

"The Road is his easiest read."

Oh, no!
I think the bathroom humor turned a lot of people off to a great album. Enjoy! had Get the Time, Hurtin' Crue, Sour Grapes and Wendy. Cheer, Days are Blood and Kids are all almost as good.
EDIT: Cheer is as good as the first songs I listed.

But Descendents were hardly a SST band. ALL was their worst album (not a bad album). Liveage was essential but it's a live greatest hits record so it's really a good gateway into Descendents music, not SST.

Still, I am excited about this.

Simon Pegg as Moist feels right. Young Michael Keaton is how I picture Moist.

Not sure where Stars & Stripes really fits in any discussion of (American) Oi!, but that was a really fun, even reallier stupid record.

They were usually lumped in with skinhead rock, rather than oi, anyway. (Not sure what qualifies a band as skinhead rock exactly, but they never sounded quite like an oi band to me.)

Soap
Final episode of Soap was a cliffhanger with a bunch of the major characters facing certain death.

He is exactly fargging right.

I expected more…
…yammering on about this release from the esteemed commentariat of the AVClub. The Feelies record I am not disappointed with. It's nothing more nor less than a new Feelies record. They've never been an ambitious band.
