I don't know. Does network TV have a natural place given today's entertainment technology? If not, does it have enough of a cultural legacy that it's worth preserving for institutional value? I'm not convinced it needs to exist.
@avclub-3cfac5846049d3a1ea09669fc1039764:disqus For sure. He didn't actually do anything wrong, but it just doesn't play well in terms of honor. And he's dealing with some heavy survivor's guilt.
Yeah, the thing that made it so jarring in the book was that he was really showing signs of taking on the role.
I wasn't sure Robb meant that literally, or if he was just exaggerating to show Edmure how little he thought of what he'd done.
That line delivery was really good. It conveyed that he'd seen this shit before, still didn't understand it, was deeply disturbed by it, and could only address it a grim sense of something like humor which did nothing to reassure him.
I can't wait to see what guest chef Wyman Manderly brings to the table.
The delayed reveal really added a lot of weight to it, though. And at that point there had been enough greater evils than Theon that we were ready to see it.
Edmure isn't fully as bad in the books (he fucked up Robb's plans trying to defend his smallfolk, not just for his glory) but he's generally unimpressive and not that smart. Also, (and this shouldn't be a spoiler, because it's from this book), he's off having sex with his new bride while the rest of his family is…
They're lords of the Riverlands, so a fish makes sense in that respect. But there has to be something better associated with a river. Even just a river.
@avclub-e57dbebc740250d2c4a370cf6ccb35f0:disqus That's some secondary-victim blaming right there. Not that Tyrion has the healthiest view toward women, but he was forced into that horrible incident and was Tywin's intended target.
Definitely looks like Will Arnett. I don't know the actual actor so that's still who it is to me. And it makes sense that they would bone, because G.O.B. did have a thing for Ann.
Are they? Seems like a big conclusion-jump there given all the different life arcs people can go through in this country.
There's nothing magical about being older that makes it implausible that someone meets the best person they'll ever date at a younger age.
Why do that just to do that, though?
@spinycreature:disqus Crab chips
Conky?
Sadism at least. She is having Robb thrown in the dungeons first.
Oh, that's right. To be fair, I think she did suggest both, but yeah, getting started with Loras and finishing in her definitely overshadows the other for dirtiness.
I always read him as having a dark sense of humor and a solid character — he'll complain, but he's the most loyal friend you can have. He's good in the show; I just think it would be hard to live up to how funny I found him in the books.
