I've never been crazy about his talk show, but everything he ever did working for The Simpsons seems just utterly wonderful.

I have always been partial to Earwigs, Ewww!, but nonetheless concede that Locker Room Towel Fights: The Blinding of Larry Driscoll is the undisputed winner. It's just so, so awesome.

Exactly who I pictured when I read the book, thanks in no small part to his role in Boogie Nights, I'm sure. I assume you're talking about Philip Seymour Hoffman, not Peaches Geldof. Man, it's been a rough year so far.

Yeah, he's often described as being like an evil Father Christmas, isn't he? I can't really think of any actors who could pull off 'evil Father Christmas'. McConaughey would be a better Larry Underwood, I think.

We can assume Will just ate some of the pieces of Randall Tier that were cooling in his barn. As for the corpse, it's likely they just took one from the mortuary since it'd be unrecognisable anyway once burnt. It's unethical as fuck, but I'm pretty sure Jack and co. are past that now.

It only really looked like a man to me because it didn't have any hair, but I assume that's a natural side effect of the fire. So I'm a little worried. I can see them reappropriating a famous scene from the lore like that just to mess with us, though. Let's hope Will managed to tell Freddie everything and is now

Also surely not a coincidence that this killer resembled Buffallo Bill (Jame Gumb) both in terms of his physical appearance and his obsession with skin, and HIS name is James Gray…

This is the best Simpsons ending ever. I don't think there will ever be an image that says more to me personally than world-class idiot Homer Simpson staring tiny and thoughtful up at the infinite night sky. And that beautiful music… it's just wonderful.

Ideal FF cast:
Liam Neeson - Reed
Cate Blanchett - Sue
NPH - Johnny
Kevin Michael Richardson - Ben

This is horrible. He was an amazing actor. Way, way, way too talented, and way too young to go right now. He will not be forgotten.

It's always strange to re-watch Bart the General now, since Nelson so quickly became just another one of the gang rather than Bart's Bully.

I am familiar with the works of Pablo Ner — ahem, SNPP. But I was wondering more whether scripts were available at all in book form or anything like that.

Maybe the best segue ever:

Say, Terwilliger's a Yalie.

This episode is one of a few which approaches Cape Feare-levels of jokes per minute. Basically every exchange is loaded with classic lines. No opportunity for a joke goes ignored. "Faster, boy! He's got a taste for meat now!"

One of the weirdest things about watching new Simpsons is the animation. It looks like what it is: a completely different show. I think my favourite example of the old, hand-drawn animation allowing something that would never happen today is in Itchy & Scratchy: The Movie when Homer regales Bart with the coffee table

It's one of those Simpsons moments that is irrevocably hammered into my head since childhood. I can't take a bite of something sour without thinking of "Now if you'll excuse me, all this talkin' has made me hungry."

"And with that, a mighty cheer when up from the heroes of Shelbyville. They had banished the awful lemon tree forever… because it was haunted. Now let's all celebrate… with a cool glass of turnip juice."

KILL

Oh, great. Now I'm upside down!
