I will always love this show. When I think about it, I've probably laughed harder at it in my life than any other piece of television or film ever made. Sure, countless other shows are technically funnier, but there's a boundless joy to live improv that cannot be explained. I'm thrilled it's still on, even if it's not

It's just the one swan, actually.

Man, I honestly don't know what I'll do if Walt survives the finale. I desperately want him to die but BB has never been that predictable…

I love you Will Harris

If Parks were just slightly more cartoony I would LOVE for all of these to happen.

That'd be great. Yvette Nicole Brown is seriously underused on that show and is always funniest when she gets to do the Donna-type sass.

Moore was probably thinking of the Bob Dylan version though. It would have been really cool if Snyder had used that one. The Hendrix version is superior, of course, but also too obvious and transparently 'awesome'.

I was thinking Land of Chocolate too. I'm certain that was an original composition though…

Oh man, that's a great line, and very useful in real life if ever you want to really ruin someone's day.

Very well put, @avclub-9ff7c9eb9d37f434db778f59178012da:disqus . If that's our definition of a classic era, then you're definitely right, but I would argue maybe that it's too restrictive a definition. The problem is this is all entirely subjective, but I really don't think consistency is as important as you do when a

Oh I know, dude! I'm a big Toho fan too. That's part of the reason I love the joke. I wish I could remember which I saw first, though, as I was pretty much raised on old Simpsons episodes and old Godzilla movies so the reference might have just gone over my head at first or been one of the few I actually got at that

This show taught me so much about the importance of commas. "NO, MONEY DOWN!"

So do you mean the Golden Age ends at the end of Season 6 or the end of Season 7? And frankly I would argue against you, so there! Season 8 is consistently good. It doesn't matter if some episodes were holdovers, because they aired during Season 8 and are therefore episodes of the show's eighth season…
And if we are

Ahh, the Homer-gets-distracted-and-chases-something joke. Never gets old. "That dog has a puffy tail! Here puff!"

I know some people think they're cheap, but I love the surprise emotional endings that a lot of Golden Age episodes would pull on us. "Do It for Her" is probably the most popular, but I must confess that the credits of Mother Simpson, particularly the beautiful music, are the only piece of television that has ever

Me and my younger sister used to act out those creative fight moves when we were actually arguing with each other. My mum would also un-ironically flick the lights on an off to shut us up. Such was the influence of The Simpsons on my household…

I'd argue it concludes with Behind the Laughter. That episode is like the apex of the show's meta humour, as well as a clear acknowledgement that the show is not what it once was. On top of that it's the last episode that I consider to be as purely quotable as any from the Golden Age. "Would Willie's fence-mending

I, uh, brung you some posies.

It's a brilliant Marge episode too. The animation when she's bouncing the ball is perfect.
