Oh, I'm a fool.

That's my favourite segment from the Twilight Zone movie. The effects are fucking awesome.

I read somewhere that in the original version of the scene where Billy comes home to save his mother from the Christmas tree gremlin, her head was thrown down the staircase towards him. As disturbing as this film is in many ways, it could have been SO much worse. I think the end film is a perfect mixture of scares and

I've always found the Indiana Jones movies to be incredibly violent, though. Why single out the heart removal from Temple of Doom when the first movie alone features propellers slicing someone up, multiple face meltings and an exploding head? For me growing up, I was always most traumatised by the guy who ages really

@avclub-e6dad0d5e6efdb6f79c443dcb3002ad0:disqus But would you honestly prefer a Gremlins where Gizmo didn't save the day by driving an adorable tiny car around a toy store? Spielberg might have made the right call there, at least.

The Santa Claus guy being clawed at all over by the gremlins, presumably to death, always disturbed me more than the Deagle or Futterman attacks. Why don't those cops do something, dammit?!

Although I'll admit Gremlins 2 is superior purely as a film, this is my favourite Christmas movie by far. It's a tradition of my family's to watch this at least every other year, and on a side note it is the only movie that gave me nightmares as a child that I don't now hate.

Scariest movie of the past decade, if only for the ending. You can watch those last few minutes without having seen any of the film preceding it, or having any knowledge of the movie whatsoever. It works as both a magnificent ending to the film and the perfect short horror movie.
