Elijah really shouldn't have killed Slater. He'd have been a big help. Plus, I just like the idea of a nerd vampire.

I have a bad feeling about this. And by this, I mean Alaric.

This episode made me realize how much, despite my love for them, the Original stuff has brought a grinding halt to the momentum of the major players. Jeremy & Tyler are gone. Caroline has gotten some good stuff. Bonnie is only around when she's a convenient tool. And I've totally lost track of where the leads are in

Yes, I agree about that being a hallmark of the previous S/E relationship. Damon has definitely been controlling in the past too. I guess it just seemed like they all regressed to like season 2 overnight in last night's ep and so it felt forced for me. We as an audience can see that the old Stefan is in there, but

I thought that was actually so jarring in this episode. Stefan has been the one acting crazy this season, not letting her in on plans, forcing his blood down her throat, etc. Damon, while protective, has most recently been supportive of her, like when she insisted on hiking on a mountain on a full moon with a bunch of

Wasn't just you. When you combine Elijah's earlier line about "and then you'll have to deal with Kol" with the look on Klaus' face when he saw him (and he threw his hands up somewhat defensively), I think there's definitely a story there.

Yep, jerkido is right. In fact, pretty much every main vampire character who isn't an Original has now had to drink Klaus' blood to cure a werewolf/hybrid bite: Damon & Katherine in the season 2 finale, Stefan in 3.2 (or 3?) and now Caroline. I can't help but think that they're lulling us into a false sense of

My best guess is that finding a way to decapitate him and then keeping the head separate from the body would work. Maybe I've just been watching too much Buffy & Supernatural though.

These sentences are all referring to the more recent books, not the original 4 which are more related to the show. LJ Smith wrote the original 4 in the early 90s (late 80s?) and they were…not horrid. Teenage melodramatic RL Stine type stuff. I enjoyed them as someone who reads a lot of YA paranormal. Smith's writing

Damon did compel Elena when she was asleep once, right? She was dreaming she was making out with Stefan and then when he pulled his shirt off, it was Damon's face there?

Yep, we saw modern Lexi in one episode, though she also appeared in a flashback episode, when we were learning about how she helped Stefan get back on the wagon.

Right, they basically escape the worst parts of either race. They aren't required to shift on the full moon, nor do need the full moon to shift if they want. They also can walk in the sun. As Malware says above though, they're not totally invincible, as Tyler and Ray were both effected by vervain. Klaus seems to be

The TVD vampires have eaten food since day one. Their bodies seem to have no problems processing it.

I too have been watching since the pilot and it boggles the mind how much this show still delights me every week.

Agree with FineLeatherGoods, there's some good stuff in the back half of S1. "Let the Right One In" is one my favorite episodes ever, showing Elena & Damon & Alaric working together to help Stefan.

I don't think they've ever specifically said it on the show, but its been tossed about in interviews that Elena's technically dying at the end of Season 2 revoked her supernatural ownership of the house. So basically, they need to do the process over again.

Also Elena running into Stefan as she's leaving the boys bathroom. That's how they met in the pilot.

Yes, which is why Carrie's review specifically calls him Caroline's "gay father."

Elena didn't get her necklace back until the first episode this season, when Damon gave it to her before the birthday party. She hadn't had it since Katherine impersonated her late last season, so I think (I'm a little fuzzy on the timeline from last season) that Klaus never saw her wearing it. She wasn't wearing it

No, Klaus has already changed when he gave the blood to save Damon, so if Stefan is a hybrid, so is Damon. I think its more likely that the problem with the hybrid-making is that Elena didn't stay dead.
