It terms of atmosphere it didn't really feel like the old Twin Peaks. I feel like I was watching a combination of Eraserhead and Mullhulland Dr. populated by the characters of Twin Peaks — and I'm loving it. My favorite parts of the old Twin Peaks were the surreal scenes Lynchian horrors, so this new season is catnip.

So, it took me about fifty pages or so to really get used to the format. I stuck with it because Saunders is my favorite living writer, and I'm glad I did — once I got used to it I finished the novel in two days. Absolutely fantastic.

The Young Pope is way better. This isn't bad, mind.

I thought this episode was one of the best so far. Last week's show made me think that Naz actually could be the killer after all — but they flipped it around after this week's creepy mortician and the step-dad revelation.
