Ooh! That reminds me. Yesterday on the train going to work, I saw someone watching Rules of Engagement on her phone. Which means not only is this a real live person who watches the show, but she actually goes to the trouble of getting episodes on her phone. I almost wanted to take a picture….

I guess I've never understood how it's any different than any other conversation here that may or may not interest me. I don't really care about music or sports discussions, but I just ignore those, too. How is talking about a TV show substantively different or less relevant to this place?

I actually really enjoyed the SNL liveblogs when we used to do it here. I enjoy talking to you guys about SNL. But back then, I could participate and watch because I'd join on my own time—commercial breaks, musical guest, etc. In TC whatever was said about a sketch 2 minutes ago is long gone by then.

Yeah, that's why I don't join the SNL Tinychats. As fast as it moves, I can either participate or watch the show. I can't imagine trying to follow anything with a longer format than a sketch with a TC liveblog at all.

I actually used that to my advantage when I was a (super-farsighted, astigmatic) little kid who was super-shy but also liked theatre and dance. Before I got contacts, I'd perform without my glasses and it really did make it easier to not get stage fright!
