It's a shame because Dax is best in those kind of moments, where she's advising or listening to or kidding one of the mains.  Then they gave her that shit line, and there's no rescuing it.  A silent moment between them, a look or a hand on the shoulder, would have been far better.

Daddy issues are so tiresome.  I can't even with that kind of storyline anymore.

While similar to TWOK in some ways, I do like how in "For the Uniform" it's our hero who is taking things personally and going after the white whale, as opposed to the baddie doing morally ambiguous/reprehensible things to settle a questionable score.

Dorn is the funniest guy on the show.  I wish they had let that shine in TNG.
