Full disclosure: I love Star Trek IV. Why the things you mentioned and the multitude of other issues with it do not bother me, just the canine officer, is something I truly cannot explain.

Holy hell, @avclub-53e4db6f596904f154b5efa09193e3ab:disqus, you are preaching to the choir.
And I can see why someone who loves Bond would love "Our Man Bashir." Similar to why I love Galaxy Quest so very much.

OK, why do people (read: cops/law enforcement/military) in movies/tv have canine officers they clearly do not listen to?! The scene in Star Trek IV where the dog whines an pulls down the steps on the ship because he freakin' knows there's something not right down there, and his handler just jerks on the leash and…
Yeah, I remember looking for a 'wizard did it' explanation, too, but I agree with Zack that this is a much more real approach. People can be assholes, especially when infected with greed.
Man, what the hell was that obsession all about, really? I say this as someone who was also obsessed with alien abductions/Roswell/alien autopsies/etc.
I like "Little Green Men," but I see what you're saying there, @avclub-64ad8f3af92ef8d9a1c7dfd7265e577d:disqus. And I love "Our Man Bashir," probably because I don't love Bond films and find the satire all the more hilarious for it.
It was Krazy Gas in "The Cloudminders."
@avclub-32b63dd70d870580128d83e930199e1c:disqus THANK YOU. Sometimes I think I am the only female in the world who despises pink—the color, the word, everything about it.
This past fall they did The Birds, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Frankenstein/Bride of Frankenstein. Sadly, I did not make to any of those.
I also love the line "till my body had turned to carrion."
My husband and I couldn't believe the other guys didn't know the answer. We thought that was common knowledge. Is it not?
Sodium.
I think "Let He Who Is Without Sin…" would have dramatically improved if Bashir had stayed in his uniform like Worf.
All of the America songs from "The Last Unicorn" are brilliant. I especially love the opening credits with title song. The animation for each segment starts out like you'll see in the movie proper, and then it stops and transforms into this…tapestry?…look. It's hard to explain, but it's gorgeous. And the vocals…
I know a lot of people hate it, but I love the boat ride. Wilder's singing is creepy as hell.
I use them in all of it.
Ian Gillan's "Gethsemane/I Only Want to Say" is my favorite. But it is difficult to pick just one.
Prince of Egypt is pretty awesome. I love the animation for the burning bush.
