I had never heard of that, so I youtubed it.  Really cute.  I'll have to check out the whole movie sometime.

Oh God, my best friend since elementary school, who is now a MUSIC TEACHER, hates that movie because, and I quote, "Gangs don't sing and dance!"  Sigh.

I love the in-time book stamping, foot stomping, typewriter-typing, etc.  Also, the train segment in the beginning of that movie is awesome.  That whole musical is so tight, it's great.  Robert Preston is pitch-perfect, too.

A little over a year ago, I went to see West Side Story in the movie theater.  TCM was presenting, and had Robert Osbourne sit down and interview George Chakiris and Marni Nixon before the film.  "Cool" is just so enthralling on the big screen.  The whole film, though, just swallows you up when watched in that format.

That voice!  ::swoon::

I would give best musical moment in a non-musical film to "Puttin' on the Ritz" in Young Frankenstein.

Carousel is unfairly overlooked, in my opinion.  I think some of it has to do with the subject matter.  Richard Rodgers cited it as his favorite of their collaborations.  The "Carousel Waltz" is a brilliant bit of music.

I love the song "Pilate's Dream."  It's like he knows shit is going to hit the fan, his name will be dragged through the mud, and there's not a damn thing he can do about it.  Jesus Christ Superstar is a really awesome musical.  I love the humanizing it does to Jesus, Pilate, and Judas.  Hell, I feel like the real

"I'm especially good at expectorating!"

Personally, I prefer "As the World Falls Down" from Labyrinth.

Do what?

I imagine "America" has a difficult time signature for dancing, as well.  Brilliant song.

The absence of Gene Kelly on this list is just appalling.

I love how in "Step in Time" the chimney sweeps co-opt any phrase they hear.  "Votes for Women, step in time!"

It's just the credits, but Roger Miller's "Whistle Stop" for Robin Hood is forever seared into my memory.

"Soliloquy" from the film Carousel.  Gordon MacRae just strolls along the beach, singing an 8-minute aria about impending fatherhood.  Watch that movie for the first time, and it is a song of hope and inspiration.  You feel so good after it.  Upon rewatch, it is one of the most tragic sequences in film, and one that

@avclub-adb4c903674d579c1a43dbf3ae93f077:disqus, oh my God, the "perpetual tourist" is the perfect way to sum up Jadzia.  The character doesn't actively bother me, but she's just kind of there.

@avclub-ba56a1fd70b8c7aff17bf4c58e614b42:disqus it works on so many levels!

They still sing songs of the Great Tribble Hunt.

Hours-long games are never a waste!  I'd rather interact with other players via board games then have everyone in their separate corners playing on their phones or whatnot.
