We have a Ticket to Ride version for the computer which is the new solitaire in our house.  Very addictive.

My brother has been playing Ticket to Ride with his two kids, ages 5 and 7, for about a year now.  Granted, they keep their cards face up so he can help them.  The older one has won a few times, too.  They love it.

My father-in-law noted that the angry birds sound like the Brownies from Willow.

If you play BSG with people familiar with the show, I've found it frustratingly (in a good way) messes with people's heads, too.  I was once Baltar and everyone hated me, even though I was not a Cylon or a sympathizer.  Meanwhile, Admiral Adama was a Cylon from the beginning and efficiently dispatched evil without

Another vote in Kasidy's favor.  She has good chemistry with Sisko, and I like that she's a civilian with a job, and therefore brings her own interests to the table, sometimes in conflict with Starfleet tropes.  And I like that this conflict will bring what feels like non-forced drama into their relationship at times.

The bedrooms in Willa's house are so weirdly delicious.

@avclub-0806ebf2ee5c90a0ca0fd59eddb039f5:disqus that's why Dr. Crusher has that oh-so-flattering blue lab coat, and Bones had an extra shimmery blue tunic.  Why Bashir didn't have an extra set of doctory clothes is something I've always wondered.

STILL SPOILERS

Only saw this movie a few years ago and it is one of my favorites of any genre.  I remember sitting slackjawed for about 20 minutes after it was over, amazed that they killed off the hero in such quick, nonchalant fashion.  I mean, it was 1968, and it was still not commonplace to make such a grim film.

@LurkyMcLurkerson:disqus, that is problematic for me about Star Trek, as well.  Not being scientifically-minded in the least, I feel as though sometimes there's little respect for the social sciences.  Kirk's line in "Space Seed" about finally giving 'that historian, McGivers' something to do hurts me a bit.  I've

I wish they hadn't scrapped the school idea after the first season.  I think there was potential in that storyline, and it gave Keiko something meaningful to do on-station (rather than getting rid of her for long stretches by sending her to Bajor, which just gave an excuse for Bashir and O'Brien to play).

SPOILERS

Dammit, I love these two men and all their interactions with each other.

Waste extraction?

I like "The Ship" Vorta, too.  She seems like such a cold, calculating bitch.

Wasn't Siddig annoyed that they didn't have that timeline worked out?  He didn't know until receiving the script for that particular episode where it's revealed, and he lamented that he couldn't have amended his performance a bit.

I also thought of the Great Britain/India parallel reading this thread.  I'm sure the British thought they were doing the right thing by 'taming the savages' after some of the things they witnessed (sati, Indian actions during the Sepoy Rebellion).

I was 9 at the time and was also confused.

@avclub-f09e57b700c3f50f42e812264b8f7d4f:disqus, I am amazed at your ability to liken O'Brien to Wesley without somehow insulting the former.  Bravo!

Bashir's behavior in this episode and in the upcoming SPOILERS? "The Quickening" show how in-love he is with the concept of 'frontier medicine.'  He's so doctory, and while that is an excellent thing, sometimes he needs to be balanced out by someone more down-to-earth like O'Brien.
