He created and ran Justified which was a huge AV Club favorite (deservedly) and the storytelling elements that are being consistently praised (the combination of "fun" and real emotional stakes, disparate plots that seem to end up dovetailing…

Agreed completely. Honestly, the blanket description of Frank as a "bad guy" or completely unsympathetic by some bother me a bit. Yeah he could be more sensitive and enlightened, but that doesn't make him a bad person.
