I feel like that aspect of the character is all Julianna's doing. She probably just Jenna Maroney style sits in the writers room threatens them if they don't make her likable.

Hey, she's a lawyer. She can afford some volumizing conditioner.

It just feels like lazy writing to just get rid of Courtney and Jason. You can tell that the writers had no clue what else to do with those characters, so they just threw them out. I really hope that this is a sign that the writers are getting a grip on what works and what doesn't in the show, and they can start with
