Ah you rock! Since I'm new to the game, style of play is still alien to me.  I find myself gravitating to the Cosmos in the NASL as my local team to support. I think they had high hopes to join the MLS in a couple of years but were crowded out by the big, bad Yankee-led NYCFC.  I like the teams that start small and

I'm wary about NYCFC because 1) they'll be playing their first 3 seasons at Yankee Stadium. I can't think of a venue more ill suited for soccer. 2) I'm not a huge fan of the plans to build a stadium for them out in Flushing Meadows, since it'll displace a ton of extremely active and popular amateur and youth players

I agree with you for the most part. But I do think there is a place for commentary and hijinks, which Tech TV did way better than G4 ever did. Now you can get all of those things on the internet, especially on popular Youtube channels. Niche programming like G4 or Tech TV already appeals to a demographic far more

From the handful of highlights I saw, the Timbers Army and affiliated supporters groups are about on par with the Sounders groups. I think part of the reason is that Portland only has one other major sports team. The long standing rivalry helps too.

I caught myself saying "sport" instead of "sports" the other day. What I'm trying to say is that I am extremely impressionable.

So I guess I like soccer now?
