There's something wrong when a progressive city agency or housing non-profit derives a huge chunk of their workforce from unpaid graduate student interns. It reeks of hypocrisy.

I've heard that some careers generally include decent paying internships that are basically tryouts for a full time job. Engineers especially. So in that field it kind of makes sense. But for people compelled to work for free to then have to pay for the class?

I admire your ability to spend less time on the internet. I think my compulsive need to consume article and comments is starting to actually have an adverse effect on my life. Any tips on cutting the cord?

I almost completed the hundred pushups program a few months back. I'm doing a modified version of it now with a much more gradual progression. Up to about 60 in a row starting from 20 three months ago. The huge progressive leaps a few weeks in to the original program just discouraged the hell out of me.
