I like how it fades from the silhouette of the Doctor driving away as the sun sets to the  "time tunnel." Most episodes end with an abrupt cut; episode 6 of Green Death and all four of The Robots of Death are the ones I remember fading instead, and I prefer it.

You've piqued Patrick Stewart's interest

Did he sneak on set for Lea Thompson's scene of full frontal nudity?

A friend of mine is an Anglican priest and he explained his admiration for this film by pointing to the scene when Norton's character sits down to talk with an older priest played by Milos Forman. He thought the line about falling in love at least once every ten years was spot-on, and captured the challenge any man

Wow, rockmarooned, you just made me realize how many Ben Stiller movies I like from a very short period. I like all of those, and Zero Effect is a particular favorite.

Weird that you mention Sunday Night Football but not the final Red Sox-Yankees game of the season and Mariano Rivera's final visit to Fenway park. They had a ceremony to honor him, with gifts and everything. Even Boston fans got choked up and into the spirit of the thing, cheering Mo and restoring your faith in

That's the make-up job I had in mind, as is this one:

"Even Time Lords got to shout…"

Where in Adric's tenure are they revisiting and inserting these stories? If Adric is going to improve his reputation, I would think his chances are better if it is in the period between Warrior's Gate and Logopolis, maybe even before Keeper of Traken. He works better with the fourth Doctor as a sort of father figure

I like it, Prole Hole. Interviewed by Dan Savage, Tom Baker does his Tobais Funke impersonation: "I blue myself"

I think I saw the picture in question in one of the Peter Haining books, and I always assumed it was a flaw in the photograph. A Doctor Who fan gets accustomed to shrugging and overlooking things there wasn't enough money to fix. A bit naive of me to fail to consider they had done that particular travesty purposely.

That was a great quip, Jago, even better when you told the Doctor on second thought *not* to bother coming back for open auditions.

The sand sculpture the Tampa Bay Rays gave Mariano Rivera on his
farewell tour bears a striking resemblance to the model of Mt.
TomBakerMore made for this story.

"“The Face Of Evil” was the first of three Doctor Who scripts written by
Chris Boucher, whose love of dark, noirish stories fit nicely with
script editor Robert Holmes’ own sensibilities."

I'd defend every Mats/Westerberg album. Some are stronger overall than others, but each certainly has its weak points as well as its highlights. For instance, can I come out in favor of "Vampires and Failures"? I'm pretty sure that's a hair clipper doing the solo at one point.

I think Spinal Tap had something to say about perspective

I prefer the recordings I've heard of his live cover where he takes it the other direction and goes with electric power chords.

I know, all these years a fan and I am not sure what's more surprising: that they had two guys named "Slim" in the band or that I didn't know about the Dunlop one.
