Totally. World of lust and crime…

I was mildly surprised Grosse Point Blank did not show up on this list. I still enjoy that movie. Piven screams about how it's been "TEN YEARS, MAN!" since they last saw one another; well, now it's been 20 years since that film.

Falling Down is a great guilty pleasure. The golf course scene ("now you're gonna die in your stupid hat"), the army store guy ("this shit was USED!"), the final realization ("I"M the bad guy?")

It's a severe behavioral disorder.

I'm gonna play Nobody's Empire right now

I wouldn't say Automatic for the People is REM's best album, but it is better than Time Out of Mind, so it would be odd to make that the jumping off point. If anything, it should feel like a course correction.

I do not want to defend Spencer's views, but I like Black Celebration better than Music for the Masses and Violator. Furthermore, I've always been under the impression that while the latter two had more commercial success, the former is more popular among Depeche Mode devotees.

How is Teti wrong? And all fair-minded people should be concerned about Goodell's arbitrary abuse of power, not only Patriots fans. If the Steelers' balls were handled correctly and ended up under-inflated, it is evidence that tends to exonerate the Patriots. And the failure to investigate shows favoritism, a lack of

It stinks that Ryan was the one hurt on that play, and not Pete Carroll. The fake punt was a needless risk to take with a big lead late in the game, and it is not the first time Pete Carroll has done something like that. He's celebrating on the sideline as Ryan is on the field, unconscious, while trainers attend to

I thought of this during last night's game. Jason Donald was flagged, and it almost hit him in the head, whereupon he threw it away, collecting an extra penalty. I remembered Orlando Brown and wondered whether Donald was showing disrespect for the officiating or complaining about the call, or expressing anger over how

Yeah, but wouldn't a venn diagram of incompetence and accidents overlap? In none of these cases do we suspect he is maliciously trying to screw up. The idea is to get the flag in the area of the violation without hitting a player or creating a dangerous situation.

Dana Carvey, huh? I was hoping it would be Will Ferrell to return, playing his Harry Caray ("aren't you dead?" "yeah—so what?") enjoying the Cubs championship from the afterlife. I'm sure they could have fit Rizzo, Ross, Fowler, and Murray into that sketch.

I can't decide whether that photo of John Daly looks like Rex Ryan with short hair or Bob Ryan after botox.

I watched Spaced, but I don't remember. Mind reminding me where?

What about the Red Riding Trilogy? I liked the three films, then read the four (?) books. They were so desolate, the nihilism felt forced.

That's what I thought watching it, but the review made me wonder if I was mistaken.

yeah, nice catch of the nod to Sopranos.

"You have shown me a strange image, and they are strange
prisoners."
