When the snowman spoke back, did anyone else have flashbacks to Melkur in "Keeper of Traken"?

The Doctor having a team or a "family" can work well or poorly, but when it works well it is about as good as Who gets. In this iteration we have a mix of entertaining and interesting characters.

I'd say this was the best of the Christmas specials. The first few (Christmas Invasion, Runaway Bride) were terrible. Christmas Carol and The Next Doctor were the other good ones.

I missed the face because I was thinking the closest predecessor to this most recent iteration was the derided McCoy era credits. (In that it spun around more than going straight through the time tunnel.)

I'm just going to assume that link is to the SNL "lost ending" of "It's a Wonderful Life" and smile.

Bittersweet. I love this series—the television program and these reviews—and it is a great conclusion, but now I can no longer look forward to reading these on Wednesdays. What an unexpected pleasure, though, to know that I can revisit "Slings & Arrows" enhanced by reviews and communal dialogue. Cheer up, Hamlet! The…

I find it despicable, so I don't watch it, but I am certain Survivor has not been around for 25 years. (Maybe 15) Do they run more than one series per 12 months?

It had not occurred to me that the safehouse was Livia's house. If so, it was never a "safe" house before, psychologically or emotionally speaking. I am trying to recall the shot of them talking about ordering a pizza to see if I can recognize it as Livia's house, and whether the bannister, steps, and that little…

I always hear the "yeah, a Saint Bernard" retort in Cliff Claven's voice since the first time I heard that joke was on Cheers.

May I ask, andyradicalpossumtackler, why you skipped "Terror of the Vervoids"? It was and still is my favorite stretch of that season. Sure, in many ways it is a by-the-numbers Agatha Christie murder mystery in space, but that isn't so bad. It does introduce Mel, for which I dare not make any apologia.
