Yeah, what's up with that. My expensive gym also closes at 10 on weekends, and that's when I want to go, dammit.

You ain't never married a barrel.

What was up with the Seinfeld jab, tho? Do we think that was scripted?

I really don't know how you'd NOT think that.

Haha, couples therapy. Unlike solo therapy, where the person has an incentive to look after your interest and tell you a version of what you want to hear, couples counseling seems to be more about the therapist's arbitrary biases than anything.

There's a difference, though, between changing how you perceive and merely recognizing it. I'm really only looking for the latter, here.

My neighbor had an Oddyssey. Played it a couple times. That is all.

yeah like Nazi parties amirite

I'm starting to think Americans are just too dumb to understand how low-level and insidious their racial perceptions are. The issue here is that perfectly normal people (even non-whites) perceive black men as angry, irrational, and physically powerful basically as a default, and that's what fuels these confrontations.

Yeah, there is no way. There were backing tracks for both songs, and there were parts where the backup singers were definitely lip-syncing / not in the mix for the second song, but the rapping was real, down to the memory lapses where she would put down the mic for a second. Seems like she's actually very good at

It was close to actual editorializing, with one joke in there (80% white, 95% cops etc.)

I'm sure Pauly Shore wants lots of things.

On a scale of one to ten, ten being punk as fuck, this is about a five. Half as punk as fuck.

I would expect that every single female performer who was creating a similar piece absolutely, positively would consider the likelihood that it would lead to unwanted sexual contact and plan accordingly. I mean, seriously, look at the parameters of the event:

But who would design a performance like this without thinking through all the possible consequences first? Without having a plan of "I'm going to let people do X, Y, and Z, but if they do these other things here's how I'll get out of it."

Meh, sounds like mere "molestation" actually. It does seem like we are stretching the term rape so far that it is becoming meaningless.

Yeah I started with I Can Hear the Heart and didn't really get it, but I totally fell in love with Summer Sun. So pretty! "Won't Have To Be So Sad" is still a go-to track. I guess I can see how if you are highly invested in the noisy aspect of the band it can seem irrelevant, though.

I always thought the cannibal plot was part of the whole "tanking on purpose" concept, to mess up "Bania's time slot" (which was really a joke about whatever show followed Seinfeld.) The hot tub bit is the same episode as "What's the deal with everybody getting sick? What's the deal with CANCER?"

Yeah, this year I am SO thankful that we are going to thanksgiving with my side of the family and not the in-laws, because of the otherwise inevitable racist opining about Ferguson. Aside from the whole "being blatantly wrong" angle, I'm tired of the whole rules of engagement where it's ok to start a conversation with
