I quit again two weeks ago. I have done this before, sometimes, like when I had each of my kids, for years. I'll admit, this time has been harder than ever before, so I tell myself that it's some kind of metaphor and that means it will stick this time!

I had to remember my password so I could log into my AV Club account so I could say this: holy fuck this is the worst thing. Why does the guy saying "milk" actually sound like the guy from Paul Hardcastle's "19"? Why do people keep letting her think she's sexy?

I (am lucky enough to) teach film classes, I get a lot of "I don't like black and white movies" or stuff like "I guess Psycho was ok for an old movie in black and white". It drives me batty. I had to establish a rule in my class: if you qualify your praise with any kind of "….for an old movie", you will be publicly

I'm late to this discussion, but I'm at work and I'm bored so I listened to the hipster bands I didn't already know, and now I'm even more bored. I know, I know. Judgy.

The Motels - Only the Lonely

I was wondering the same thing.

I haven't seen the movie, so who knows. But it was filmed within half an hour of me and I'm still bummed that I never got to meet him.

There is no spoon.

Yep. I'm always fascinated by how few people seem to remember this movie.

I'm a girl and I like Clint Eastwood. One of us must be the exception that proves the rule.

Whoa. I guess we listened to different albums. I'm gonna go back to Lorde's now.

Seconded. I had to have it in my car, like, now.

I showed the sing-along version, and all the moms were shocked - SHOCKED! - when they realized that the words were going to be right there on the screen for their, like, 8 year0old daughters to see. And I kept thinking, have you really lived to be this old without hearing these words?

She couldn't have kissed it because it wasn't fake.

One of my favorite non-film uses of the f-word, and I'm not even a huge fan, is Eminem in "The Real Slim Shady":

True story: watched and talked about Pulp Fiction with 30-odd college freshman this week. They claimed to be all post-racial and unfazed by the f-word… until I said it out loud in class. (Middle-aged white woman here.) Suddenly, the word had, like, meaning and context and stuff and their eyes got really wide.

I just don't like giving up control. iTunes knows too much about what I do with my stuff.

I gave up on Apple over a decade ago. So I can't answer your question exactly except to say, I've always hated iTunes.

I would be happy to pay a dollar for this except iTunes. Also, this is the second good Low song called "Stay".

As a Texan no longer in Texas, the only thing that ever makes me miss home is, of all lame things, "Ohio (Come Back to Texas)" by Bowling For Soup.
